Storms to our Southwest

Currently, we are monitoring a system of Thunderstorms to the SW of Tuscaloosa. These storms are beginning to fire over Starkville, MS and are moving South Eastward. These Storms should not impact the Tuscaloosa area; however, there is a weaker system just north east of this system that is producing a decent amount of rain. Bottom line, Tuscaloosa can expect some rain this evening, but nothing in the form of severe weather. There may be some lightning, so use precaution. If you're close enough to hear thunder, you're close enough to get struck by lightning.

There are more storms firing behind this initial system, but as we lose day time heating, there is a great potential that they will weaken. Either way, you can expect 2 rounds of rain, which is desperately needed this time of year.

As we continue to monitor these systems, we'll keep you updated.

Stay tuned,
PAR
